IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL This notice applies to your vehicle, September 27, 2022 SAFETY RECALL H415: Missing Audio Amplifier Module (AAM) Vehicle Affected: Jaguar F-PACE Model Year: 2022 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Recall Number: 22V-580 Dear Jaguar F-Pace Owner: This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Jaguar has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2022 model year Jaguar F-PACE vehicles. Your vehicle is included in this Recall action. What is the reason for this program? Certain 2022 Model Year Jaguar F-Pace vehicles where vehicles were manufactured without an Audio Amplifier Module (AMM) installed. Vehicles without the AAM installed will not provide any audio output for safety features including belt reminders, turn signal sounds, and Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS) warnings. Missing audible warnings may increase the risk of a crash or lead to increased occupant injury in the event of a crash. What will Jaguar and your authorized Jaguar Retailer do? An authorized Jaguar retailer will install the missing AAM and all associated brackets and fixings. There will be no charge to owners for this action under this Program. What should you do? Please contact your preferred authorized Jaguar retailer and provide them with your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and request a service date to complete the work required under Program Code ‘H415’. Attention Leasing Agencies: If you are a vehicle lessor, Federal Regulations require you to forward this notice to your lessee within ten (10) days. How long will it take? The work will be carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to minimize inconvenience to customers and is expected to take approximately one (1) hour, although your retailer may need your vehicle for a longer time. Your retailer can provide you with a better estimate of the overall time for the service visit. What if I have previously paid for this concern? The plan agreed was to control and rework affected vehicles in the US ports of entry. On July 21, 2022, Jaguar Land Rover started to receive reports that some vehicles built at the Solihull vehicle assembly plant had been found to have no audio output when retailer pre-delivery inspections were conducted. Retailer investigations revealed that there was no AAM installed. Following receipt of these field reports, actions were completed to ensure there was a clear identification of vehicles where the port of entry rework was needed to install the AAM. Updated information was provided to the ports on or around July 22, 2022. This issue was raised to the Product Safety and Compliance Committee (PSCC) where, at the PSCC meeting of July 27, 2022, the issue was discussed and Customer Service committed to urgently identify vehicles which had been shipped from US ports of entry but not reworked. It was likely that there were a number of vehicles released unreworked, the PSCC progressed the issue to the Recall Determination Committee (RDC) for review. The RDC reviewed the issue on July 28, 2022, where the scope of the matter was revealed. The RDC concluded that the defect represents an unreasonable risk to safety and that a voluntary safety recall should be conducted to install the AAM on affected vehicles. Part 573 Safety Recall Report 22V-580 Page 3 The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 Jaguar Land Rover used 17 Field Reports from July 21, 2022, to July 28, 2022, in determining the nature of the issue. There have been no reported accidents, injuries or fires as a result of this concern. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Owners will be notified and instructed to take their vehicle to an approved Jaguar Land Rover repairer. The technician will fit the missing AAM and all associated brackets and fixings. There will be no charge to the owners for this repair. The affected vehicles will be covered under Land Rover’s new vehicle warranty program. Therefore, reimbursements for pre-notice remedies are not necessary because the affected vehicles are still under warranty.
