Chronology :
In September, 2022, Jaguar
Land Rover
(JLR) production verification durability testing identified a failure of a weld on the 60% seat latch of the second row seat frame designed for installation on Range Rover 7-seat vehicles. This issue was reported through JLRs critical concerns reporting process.
A Product Safety and Compliance Committee (PSCC) investigation was opened on September 27, 2022. The PSCC requested the JLR Supplier Technical Assistance Team (STA) to fully define the scope of this issue. They reported their initial findings to the PSCC on October 12, 2022.
During October and November, 2022, supplier reviews were conducted, to define potentially affected components and the impact on the seat frame functionality. The outcome of this work was reviewed at the PSCC on December 07, 2022
During January and February, 2023, physical assessments of the second row 60% seat as installed in vehicle were conducted. The progress and outcome of this assessment was reported to the PSCC during March, 2023. At the PSCC of March 28, 2023, the scope of the issue was discussed, the effect on vehicle operation was reviewed and it was agreed that the issue be progressed to the Recall Determination Committee (RDC) for
consideration.
The RDC reviewed the issue on March 30, 2023, and concluded that this issue represents an unreasonable risk to safety, and a voluntary safety recall should be conducted.
There have been no reported accidents, injuries or fires as a result of this concern. There are no warranty claims or field reports related to this matter.

In September, 2022, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) production verification durability testing identified a failure of a weld on the left (60%) seat latch of the second row seat frame designed for installation on Range Rover 7-seat vehicles. The outcome of this work was reviewed at the PSCC on December 07, 2022 During January and February, 2023, physical assessments of the second row left (60%) seat as installed in vehicle were conducted. The progress and outcome of this assessment was reported to the PSCC during March, 2023. The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-252

At the PSCC of March 28, 2023, the scope of the issue was discussed, the effect on vehicle operation was reviewed and it was agreed that the issue be progressed to the Recall Determination Committee (RDC) for consideration. The RDC reviewed the issue on March 30, 2023, and concluded that this issue represents an unreasonable risk to safety, and a voluntary safety recall should be conducted. There have been no reported accidents, injuries, deaths or fires as a result of this concern. There are no warranty claims or field reports related to this matter.
