DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE AND THE EFFECT ON VEHICLE OPERATION
A potential concern has been identified on specific vehicles within the above vehicle range.
A concern has been identified on Ingenium I4 2.0L Petrol
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
engines where the coolant pumpdrive belt can become damaged leading to detachment or destruction. Where coolant pump drive is lost, this leads to a loss ofcoolant flow in the engine. The lack of coolant flow can cause the engine to rapidly overheat, and subsequently ruptures an enginemounted plastic elbow in the cooling circuit.
If the coolant elbow is ruptured this leads to a coolant leak onto the turbocharger heatshield which may lead to a fire in the enginecompartment which can propagate to the whole vehicle.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
JLR has taken the decision to recall affected vehicles to repair the vehicle.
Following procedures appropriate to your market and as required by local legislation, owners of affected vehicles should becontacted requesting that the owner contact their nearest retailer/authorized repairer as soon as possible to arrange for the repair tobe completed. The National Sales Companies (NSCs), Importer, Regional Office or Government agency will contact the customers. Ifyou have any questions about this process, please contact your NSC/Importer or Regional Office for more information.
Check the JLR Warranty Portal to make sure affected vehicles are correctly identified prior to starting this campaign. The WarrantyPortal will be updated to reflect only those vehicles affected.
Retailers/authorized repairers are reminded that they must not sell vehicles identified as affected by this campaign until such time asthe repair has been successfully completed.
An owner may indicate that a repair has already been completed for this concern, in which case the full cost of the repair should bereimbursed. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC and Jaguar Land Rover Canada ULC have informed the National Highway Traffic SafetyAdministration (NHTSA) and Transport Canada (TC) of their intent to perform a Safety Recall on certain 2019 to 2022 model yearRange Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles imported into the United States and Canadian markets. Information relating to thisSafety Recall will be posted on the NHTSA and TC websites. United States Federal regulations require that retailers/authorizedrepairers must be notified within a reasonable time after the manufacturer decides that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety ora non-compliance exists. United States Federal Law requires retailers/authorized repairers to complete any outstanding SafetyRecall before a new vehicle is delivered to the buyer or lessee. Violation of this requirement by a retailer/authorized repairer, in theUSA only, could result in a maximum civil penalty of up to the equivalent of $26,315.00 USD per violation and the equivalent of$131,564,183.00 USD for a related series of violations. This Safety Recall serves as notification to all retailers/authorized repairers inthe United States and Federalized Territories and Canada that any affected new vehicles may not be sold and delivered for customeruse until the Safety Recall repair is completed.

On Ingenium I4 2.0L Petrol
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
engines, the coolant pump drive belt can become damaged leading todetachment. Where coolant pump drive is lost, there will be a loss of coolant flow, causing the engine to rapidly overheat andsubsequently rupture an engine mounted plastic elbow in the cooling circuit. Coolant can leak onto the turbocharger heatshield which maylead to a fire in the engine compartment that could propagate to the whole vehicle.

We will replace the engine coolant elbow and turbocharger coolant inlet pipe on your vehicle.

REGULATORY INFORMATION
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC and Jaguar Land Rover Canada ULC have informed the National Highway Traffic SafetyAdministration (NHTSA) and Transport Canada (TC) of their intent to perform a Safety Recall on certain 2019 to 2022 model yearRange Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles imported into the United States and Canada markets. Information relating to thisSafety Recall will be posted on the NHTSA and TC websites.
This Safety Recall Administration Bulletin serves as notification to all retailers in the United States and Canada markets that any newaffected vehicles may not be sold and delivered for customer use until the Safety Recall repair is completed. Violation of thisrequirement by a retailer/authorized repairer, in the USA only, could result in a maximum civil penalty of up to the equivalent of$26,315.00 USD per violation and the equivalent of $131,564,183.00 USD for a related series of violations.
DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE AND THE EFFECT ON VEHICLE OPERATION
A concern has been identified on Jaguar Land Rover 4-cylinder petrol
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
engines where thecoolant pump pully drive belt can become damaged leading to detachment or destruction. Where coolant pump pulley drive is lost,this leads to a loss of coolant flow in the engine. The lack of coolant flow can cause the engine to rapidly overheat, and subsequentlyruptures an engine mounted plastic elbow in the cooling circuit.
If the coolant elbow is ruptured this leads to a coolant leak onto the turbocharger heatshield which may lead to a fire in the enginecompartment which can propagate to the whole vehicle.
OWNER NOTIFICATION
Initial owner notification is expected to occur on or before 26th May 2023.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
Check the JLR Warranty Portal to make sure affected vehicles are correctly identified prior to starting this campaign. The WarrantyPortal will be updated to reflect only those vehicles affected.
Retailers/authorized repairers are required to Quarantine affected new vehicles that are within your control and refrain from releasingthe vehicles for new vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action. Affected vehicles already with customers should beupdated at the next available opportunity. JLR North America recommends that affected sales demonstrator and loaner vehicles arerepaired before use and that used vehicles are repaired before sale. Retailers/authorized repairers who choose to proceed againstthis recommendation, where legally permitted, must clearly and conspicuously disclose the open recall to the applicable customers.
The Safety Recall repair procedures and any required parts and/or software are not currently available. A Safety Recall repaircampaign will be published when all repair procedures and all required parts and/or software are available.
Retailers/authorized repairers are reminded that they must not sell vehicles identified as affected by this campaign until such time asthe repair has been successfully completed.

Description of the Defect : A concern has been identified on Jaguar Land Rover 4-cylinder petrol PHEV engines where the water pump pully drive belt can become damaged leading to detachment or destruction. Where water pump pully drive is lost, this leads to a loss coolant flow in the engine. The lack of coolant flow can cause the engine to rapidly overheat, and subsequently ruptures an engine mounted plastic elbow in the cooling circuit.

Description of the Safety Risk : If the coolant elbow is ruptured this leads to a coolant leak onto the
turbocharger heatshield which may lead to a fire in the engine bay which can propagate to the whole vehicle.

Description of Remedy Program : Affected vehicles will have the engine coolant elbow replaced. In addition,
a turbocharger feed coolant pipe will be replaced. There will be no charge to owners for this repair. Customers who have paid for a repair of this defect will be reimbursed by the Jaguar Land Rover reimbursement plan, subject to the usual terms and conditions.
